Nuts & Bolts of German: Compound nouns: One misunderstood animal

- preposition + noun, e.g. Aufzug (m) - lift [auf + der Zug]

- verb + noun, e.g. Kochtopf (m) - cooking pot [kochen + der Topf]

- adjective + noun, e.g. Hochhaus (n) - high-rise building [hoch + das Haus]
