"Hund" is a noun, that is why it says "Der Hund" under the photo in the middle. "Der Hund" is the of the sentence.

Now study the photo on the right-hand side. Under the drawing it says "Wurst fϋr den Hund".

The "der" has been changed to "den"; "den" is the form of "der".

In section A1 Lower you have learnt that you need the accusative case for the object of a sentence. But "Hund" is not the direct object in the phrase "Wurst für den Hund". In that phrase you need the accusative form "den" because of the preposition "für".

The preposition "für" is
followed by the accusative case, e.g.
Die Wurst ist für meinen Hund.
Die Wurst ist für seinen Hund.
Alleine sein ist für keinen Hund gut.
