Words, Terms & Phrases: Homonyms: Morgen! Morgen!

"Morgen! Morgen! Nur nicht heute," sprechen alle faulen Leute.

This a German saying based on a song by Christian Felix Weiße (1726-1804). The first word in this saying is a so-called homonym, i.e. a word that is said or spelled the same way as another word but has a different meaning: "morgen = tomorrow" & "Morgen = morning".

Since the word appears at the beginning of the two exclamations, the spelling doesn't help to determine the meaning. So which one is it: tomorrow or morning? Write the correct English translation into the gap provided, then press [Check] to see if you were correct.

Ist die Frau faul oder einfach nur müde?

You can also listen to the saying.
