Words, Terms & Phrases: East to mix up: Freund, Freunde, Freundin & Freundinnen

In English, you can say "I met a friend." In German, you have to be more precise, since there are different words for male and female friends.

 

Freund (male friend), plural: Freunde

Freundin (female friend),  plural: Freundinnen

 

So imagine someone's Facebook page. Let's call this person Sandy. Fill in the German equivalents of friend(s).

*Although "Freunde" is the plural form of the masculine form "Freund", it is often used for groups of mixed gender.
